
A new route will cut the travel time for those wanting to take a pilgrimage to the Kailash Mansarovar.
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that a route was being carved out from Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand for Mansarovar.
This route will be convenient for pilgrims as it will reduce the travel time taken in going through routes from Nepal and China.
Pilgrimage to Mansarovar is one of the toughest and one needs to be physically fit to undertake the arduous journey.
The Union Minister said that the road connecting Pithoragarh to Kailash Mansarovar will help the pilgrims avoid the Nepal route. It is expected to be ready by the end of next year.
