Ahead of the visit of Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi to New Delhi, India on Wednesday slammed and rejected his support for the Islamic world’s views on the Kashmir issue.

The Indian ministry of external affairs (MEA) said that other countries including China have no locus standi to comment.

"We reject the uncalled reference to India by the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during his speech at the Opening Ceremony," said official Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi in a statement.

Bagchi said that matters related to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are entirely the internal affairs of India. "Other countries including China have no locus standi to comment," he said.

MEA added that they should note that India refrains from the public judgement of their internal issues.
