Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 11:25AM

Future Consumer(up 6.80%), Nakoda Group(up 3.61%), Varun Beverages(up 2.34%), Heritage Foods(up 2.17%), Parag Milk(up 1.88%), Zydus Wellness(up 1.53%), Euro India Fresh Foods(up 1.47%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 1.39%), ADF Foods(up 1.08%) and Hind.Foods(up 1.06%) were among the top gainers.

Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 2.64%), Dangee Dums(down 1.92%), Emami(down 1.65%), Britannia Industries(down 1.46%), Jyothy Labs(down 1.14%), Marico(down 0.71%), Dabur India(down 0.65%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 0.57%), P & G Hygiene(down 0.54%) and Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 0.51%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 19.55 points up at 17335.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 52.56 points at 58041.86 at around 11:25AM.

Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 3.47%), Divis Laboratories(up 2.0%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.79%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.12%), ITC(up 0.96%), JSW Steel(up 0.88%), Shree Cement(up 0.88%), HCL Technologies(up 0.79%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.75%) and Reliance Industries(up 0.75%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bharti Airtel(down 1.65%), Coal India(down 1.64%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.6%), Britannia Industries(down 1.44%), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.37%), Hero MotoCorp(down 1.29%), Asian Paints(down 0.98%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.95%), HDFC(down 0.71%) and Titan Company Ltd(down 0.7%) were trading in the red.
