Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Tuesday at 11:00AM

Ashapura Minechem(up 2.10%), MOIL(up 1.08%), Coal India(up 0.80%) and NMDC Ltd(up 0.69%) were among the top gainers.

Oriental Trimex(down 1.72%), Aro Granite Industries(down 1.65%), 20 Microns(down 1.22%), Pokarna(down 0.96%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 0.82%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 0.57%) and KIOCL(down 0.15%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 83.05 points down at 17034.55, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 274.81 points at 57017.68 at around 11:00AM.

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 2.84%), Indian Oil Corporation(up 1.82%), Reliance Industries(up 1.71%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.44%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.1%), Coal India(up 0.82%), Tata Steel(up 0.77%), JSW Steel(up 0.5%), Tech Mahindra(up 0.46%) and Hindalco Industries(up 0.44%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindustan Unilever(down 3.84%), Nestle India(down 3.11%), Britannia Industries(down 2.64%), Asian Paints(down 2.15%), Grasim Industries(down 1.94%), Cipla(down 1.77%), Axis Bank(down 1.74%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.73%), State Bank of India(down 1.7%) and Eicher Motors(down 1.64%) were trading in the red.
