Shri Gang Industries and Allied Products Ltd.(up 49.71%) and RPG Life Sci(up 19.99%) were among the stocks that surged over 15%.
The 30-share index, BSE was trading 1012.35 points up at 57829.0, while the 50-share index, NSE was 279.95 points up at 17255.3.
In the Nifty50 index, 45 stocks traded in the green, while 5 stocks were in the red.
Stocks such as Shri Gang Industries and Allied Products Ltd., NDTV, Dolfin Rubbers, Trent and A Infrastructure hit their fresh 52-week high, while Future Enterprises, Future Consumer, FutureLifestyleFash, Future Retail and Eureka Forbes Ltd. touched their new 52-week low during the session.
