Stock market live updates: The key benchmark indices pulled a gap-up start on Thursday as global markets rallied after US Fed's first interest rate hike in over three years was announced late night on Wednesday. Thus, investors took note of the central bank's resolve to tame record-high inflation. 

In early deals, the BSE Sensex was up 1,000 points to 57,800 level, while the NSE Nifty was above 17,250, higher by 290 points. 

All Sensex-30 shares continued to trade in green. HDFC, Axis Bank, Ultractech Cement, Asian Paints, Bajaj Finance, IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Kotak Bank and SBI were the top gainers. 

In the broader markets, the BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices were also in the positive territory, up to 1.3 per cent higher. 

Sectorally, all Nifty indices were seen holding strong gains led by Banks, Financials, Auto, Realty, and Consumer Durables, trading 1-2 per cent.
