Pune police arrested two young women in their early 20s for allegedly stealing a gold ring from the jewellery shop in the Sahakarnagar area. Police also seized a stolen bike from their possession. A first information report (FIR) in this regard was registered at Sahakarnagar police station by Anand Harilal Parakh, who runs a jewellery shop. On March 10, two young women had come to the shop and showed interest in purchasing gold ornaments. However, it later came to light that the duo had stolen a gold ring.
A team from Sahakarnagar police launched an investigation and started checking footage from security cameras installed around the shop. The team got leads when the two girls were seen going to the Katraj area on a bike. On Tuesday, police received information that two girls were seen in the Narayani Nagar area of Ambegaon Pathar. A police team arrested them when they were about to leave the parking lot of a building.
The arrested women have been identified as Tejal Dayanand Muneshwar (20) and Sumedha Ulhas Muneshwar (21), both residents of Ambegaon Pathar. Police have also recovered the bike they had stolen from the Hirabag area of Pune.
