Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(down 5.36%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(down 3.68%), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(down 3.13%), Mawana Sugars(down 2.05%), Sakthi Sugars(down 1.55%), Rana Sugars(down 1.39%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(down 0.48%), AVADHSUGAR(down 0.22%) and KCP Sugar & Industries(down 0.18%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 312.35 points up at 16975.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 1039.8 points at 56816.65.
UltraTech Cement(up 4.73%), Axis Bank(up 3.68%), IndusInd Bank(up 3.57%), Shree Cement(up 3.49%), Bajaj Auto(up 3.35%), Britannia Industries(up 2.82%), Tata Motors(up 2.72%), Infosys(up 2.72%), Bajaj Finserv(up 2.65%) and Bajaj Finance(up 2.61%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Cipla(down 1.15%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.27%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.14%) and TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.1%) closed in the red.
