Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Tuesday at 11:15AM

Simbhaoli Sugars(up 5.00%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(up 3.22%), Uttam Sugar Mills(up 0.62%), EID Parry(up 0.31%) and Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 0.14%) were among the top gainers.

Balrampur Chini Mills(down 3.93%), Sakthi Sugars(down 3.83%), Ugar Sugar Works(down 3.72%), Mawana Sugars(down 3.23%), Bannari Amman Sugars(down 3.11%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(down 3.04%), Rana Sugars(down 2.81%), AVADHSUGAR(down 2.76%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(down 2.74%) and Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 2.66%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 18.65 points down at 16852.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 77.65 points at 56408.37 at around 11:15AM.

TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 4.56%), Maruti Suzuki(up 3.57%), Tata Motors(up 2.45%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 2.33%), Cipla(up 1.59%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.52%), Eicher Motors(up 1.39%), UPL Ltd(up 1.27%), ICICI Bank(up 1.23%) and Asian Paints(up 1.22%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 3.9%), Hindalco Industries(down 3.39%), Tata Steel(down 2.44%), Infosys(down 1.78%), JSW Steel(down 1.71%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.42%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.31%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.27%), Reliance Industries(down 1.02%) and Tech Mahindra(down 0.87%) were trading in the red.
