NEW DELHI: FMCG shares closed lower in the Tuesday's session.

TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 3.65%), Dabur India(up 2.97%), Varun Beverages(up 2.85%), Dodla Dairy(up 2.56%), Jyothy Labs(up 2.22%), Godrej Consumer Products(up 2.06%), Zydus Wellness(up 1.41%), Britannia Industries(up 1.16%), Marico(up 0.86%) and Parag Milk(up 0.76%) stood among the top gainers.

DFM Foods(down 4.39%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 3.37%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 2.31%), Vadilal Industries(down 2.27%), Future Consumer(down 2.24%), Umang Dairies(down 2.11%), Bajaj Consumer(down 1.49%), Euro India Fresh Foods(down 1.46%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(down 1.44%) and Gillette India(down 1.41%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 208.3 points down at 16663.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 709.17 points at 55776.85.

TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 3.65%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 2.42%), Shree Cement(up 1.96%), Cipla(up 1.85%), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.41%), UPL Ltd(up 1.4%), Britannia Industries(up 1.16%), Asian Paints(up 0.82%), Titan Company Ltd(up 0.71%) and Nestle India(up 0.54%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 5.26%), Tata Steel(down 4.88%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 4.69%), Coal India(down 4.13%), JSW Steel(down 3.56%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 3.07%), Tech Mahindra(down 2.95%), Infosys(down 2.72%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 2.6%) and Reliance Industries(down 2.29%) closed in the red.
