IND vs SL Live Match Score: India tightened their noose around the Sri Lankans by bundling them for just 109 runs and then extended their overall lead to 204 by reaching 61 for one at tea on the second day of the second Test on Sunday.
Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah completed his eighth five-wicket haul in Test cricket, also his first at home, as India polished off the Sri Lankan lower-order in a jiffy. Sri Lanka resumed at 86 for six and India required less than 30 minutes to wrap their innings for a huge 143-run first innings lead. Bumrah (5/24) and off-spinner R Ashwin (2/30) scalped two batters each as Sri Lanka’s shoddy display continued.
India skipper Rohit Sharma (30 batting) and Mayank Agarwal (22) added 42 runs before the latter edged one from left-arm spinner Lasith Embuldeniya towards gully. Rohit, who largely played on the front foot and confidently swept and reverse swept the spinners, took some time to settle before going for his measured shots. At the break, Hanuma Vihari (8) was giving him company.

Pant is gone as Jayawickrama takes his scalp. An explosive innings comes to an end much to Sri lanka's relief.
Pant has played 26 balls and has already gone to 46 and it feels like he just came to the crease. And that's a half century by Rishabh Pant and the crowd is on their feet. 50 off only 28 deliveries. Surpasses Kapil Dev to score the fastest 50 by an Indian in Test cricket.
Lakmal has been brought to the attack and it's the same result as Pant hits him straight for a four. He is going after the seamers as well as the spinners. Relentless batting. Charges down and smashes it into the fence. Iyer joins the party and turns away another delivery for a well placed four!!! Sri Lanka leaking runs. IND 179/4 after 41 overs. Lead by 322 runs.
Pant, meanwhile has taken the match to the Sri Lankan bowlers and has the in-form Shreyas Iyer for company. The last over yielded 2 fours and this over already has one. His strike rate is 200 and this is a Test match. You wouldn't know from Pant's batting. India's lead past 300 now.
Kohli had to score at least 43 in the first innings of the Day-night Test against Sri Lanka to maintain an average of over 50. He failed to do that and in the second innings, he scored just 13.

That's vintage Rishabh Pant as he hits de Silva for another huge six to long off in the last ball of his over. The previous ball had also gone to the boundary as a risky shot and an appeal for LBW went straight for a four. We go for drinks now. IND 139/3 after 35 overs.
Rishabh Pant has hit a huge 6 in just the second ball he has faced. Jayawickrama who was looking delighted just a few minutes ago has the pressure piled back on him again. Comes down the crease and hoists in over deep midwicket into the crowd!!! IND 126/3 after 34 overs.
That's number 3 down as Hanuma Vihari goes for a sweep shot and gets his bails knocked off. Bowled. Jayawickrama is delighted as finally Sri Lanka catches a break in this match. Vihari departs for 35 runs. IND 116/3.
What a magnificent shot by Kohli. Exquisite. Straight down the ground as the crowd goes wild. Good use of the feet as he comes down the track lifts it back over the bowler's head for a four. IND 116/2 after 33 overs.
The 100 is right around the corner for India as Hanuma Vihari and Rohit Sharma stand strong. They have already crossed the 50-run partnership mark and now wait for a team ton. The floodlights have been switched on in the meantime. And Rohit is gone. Bad break for him. de Silva takes the crucial wicket as the skipper has to depart for 46 runs, narrowly missing his 50. IND 98/2.
Another Embuldeniya over. Another boundary off it by Hanuma Vihari. Absolute gift and Vihari takes that up with both hands and drives it straight through mid-wicket for a boundary. IND 87/1 after 25 overs.
After Jayawickrama's economical over that yielded 2 runs, Hanuma Vihari takes on Embuldeniya in the next over and hits him for a boundary straight off the bat. Exquisite drive that one. 4 runs off this over. IND 79/1 after 23 overs.
We are back to live action now as Rohit and Hanuma take the field. Sri Lanka will hope to deal a little bit more damage in this session. Does not look that way as Hanuma hits the first ball of the new session for a four. Not the start Embuldeniya wanted when he got handed the ball. Rohit then joins the party with a reverse sweep which sends the ball to deep backward point for another four. Looks more of the same for India. IND 72/1 after 19 overs.
We head to Tea break with India in control of the match and in a lead of 204 runs. Sri Lanka's last 4 wickets skittled very quickly at the start of the day and India have started their second innings pretty well. The only blip in their seconf innings is the loss of Mayank's wicket.
