Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.9 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.79 per cent), Granules India(up 0.77 per cent), Laurus(up 0.69 per cent) and Lupin(up 0.6 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Strides Pharma Science(down 1.82 per cent), Abbott India(down 1.45 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 1.26 per cent), Biocon(down 1.1 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories(down 1.05 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.38 per cent at 13126.9 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 21.75 points at 16573.15, while the BSE Sensex was down 49.98 points at 55414.41.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power, SAIL, Tata Motors and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of ICE Make Refr, Vaidya Sane Ayurved Laboratories Ltd., Nahar Poly Film, BSE and Kernex Microsys hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vivo Collaboration Solutions Ltd., Akash Infra-Proj, Easun Reyrolle, Usha Martin and Megastar Foods hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
