Shares of DLF(up 4.55 per cent), Phoenix Mills(up 3.33 per cent), Oberoi Realty(up 3.28 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects(up 2.28 per cent) and Godrej Properties(up 1.14 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Indiabulls Real Estate(down 0.56 per cent) and Brigade Enterprises(down 0.43 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Realty index closed 2.23 per cent up at 428.2.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 249.55 points at 16594.9, while the BSE Sensex stood up 817.06 points at 55464.39.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 ended in the green, while 6 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Bank of Baroda, PNB and ONGC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of ICE Make Refr, BSE, Birla Cable, Mirza Intnl and Royal Orchid hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SVP Global, Akash Infra-Proj, Felix Industries, Vivo Collaboration Solutions Ltd. and Megastar Foods hit their fresh 52-week lows.
