Synopsis

The BJP is all set to sweep four states including the politically important Uttar Pradesh. The saffron party seems all set to form govt in Goa, Manipur and Uttarakhand. But the biggest upset came from Punjab where the Aam Aadmi Party is set to prove exit poll predictions right. Infact, the Kejriwal-led party is set for a landslide victory in the state.

The BJP headed for a second straight win in politically crucial Uttar Pradesh and dominated the trends chart in three other states while the Aam Aadmi Party readied for a landslide win in Punjab, the two parties imprinting Elections 2022 with their triumph.

Here are the highlights of the assembly election results:
Uttar Pradesh:
  • RLD-SP alliance losing in all 3 Meerut seats
  • First woman Dalit CM, Maya stares at lowest point, BSP plunges
  • BJP workers celebrate on top of bulldozer in Lucknow
  • BJP is set to win 250+ seats in Uttar Pradesh
  • This will be the first time in over three decades that a party will get re-elected for a second term in Uttar Pradesh.
  • In UP, BJP has over 42 per cent vote share
Punjab
Goa:
  • Utpal Parrikar loses Panaji seat
  • As AAP leads in 2 seats, Arvind Kejriwal says it's beginning of honest politics in Goa
  • In Goa, Utpal Parrikar has lost by 800 votes to Atanasio (Babush) Monserrate in Panaji
  • CM Sawant stakes claim to form the government.
Uttarakhand
  • BJP is leading in 44 constituencies with 43.9 percent vote share
  • Harish Rawat is trailing against BJP's Dr Mohan Singh Bist with a margin of over 14,000 votes.
