- Votes will be counted today in the assembly elections in Punjab. All the 117 constituencies in the state voted on February 20. Counting will begin at 8 am. Will AAP prove exit poll predictions true and come to power? Or will the Congress manage to get a second consecutive term?

In the 2017 Punjab assembly polls, the voting percentage was 77.40. The percentage in 2007 and 2012 was 75.45 and 78.20 respectively. In the 2002 elections, the voting percentage was 65.14.
What the pollsters foretell
According to data shared by the office of Punjab's chief electoral officer (CEO), the final voter turnout was 71.95 per cent in the state.This is the lowest voting percentage when compared to that observed in the three previous assembly elections.
All the 117 seats in Punjab went to polls on February 20, 2022. It's a multi-cornered fight here with the Aam Aadmi Party posing a spirited challenge to the ruling Congress, with the SAD-BSP and BJP-PLC alliances also in the fray.
