UP Election Result Winner LIVE: The BJP under Yogi Adityanath is heading for an unprecedented victory in Uttar Pradesh. The ruling party is currently leading on 270 plus seats, 70 more than what is required to form the government. Yogi Adityanath is leading in Gorakhpur Urban and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav is ahead in Karhal. However, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya is currently trailing in Sirathu. Chief Minister Adityanath was fighting to retain the state for BJP while Akhileshh Yadav was looking to make a comeback, five years after he was dethroned by the saffron surge in 2017. The results are in expected lines as almost all exit polls had predicted BJP's return with a comfortable majority. India Today-Axis My India poll had predicted 288-326 seats for the BJP, while Chanakya has given 294.

UP Election Result 2022 LIVE: Counting to begin at 8 AM
UP Election Results: Counting of votes of Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh will begin at 8 am with postal ballots and electronic voting machines (EVM) at 8.30 am.
Ahead of counting, Election Commission (EC) said said all strong rooms, where polled EVMs are kept, are under three-layered security with an inner cordon manned by Central Armed Forces.
Candidates have been watching the strong room arrangements through CCTV coverage of 24x7. The District Administration has imposed sec 144 CrPC around the counting Halls to ensure that peace and tranquillity is not disturbed.
