Punjab election result 2022 LIVE updates: Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Admi Party (AAP) is set to win elections Punjab, giving the party its second state after Delhi. "I see AAP becoming a national force. AAP is going to be the national and natural replacement of the Congress," AAP spokesperson Raghav Chaddha told news channels. Bhagwant Mann will be the next chief minister of the state.
Chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi, a Congress leader, is set to resign after his party’ defeat. The Shiromani Akali Dal and the Bahujan Samaj Party is third in the race.
AAP is leading in 90 seats, Congress in 13 and SAD in 10. Almost all the exit polls had predicted AAP's win.

In Punjab, India Today Axis-poll predicted 76-90 seats for AAP, 19-31 seats for Congress, 1-4 seats for BJP, and 7-11 seats for SAD in 117-seat Assembly.
Traditionally, the Congress and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) have been the two key political players in Punjab. However, this time, the state witnessed a multi-cornered contest between the ruling Congress, the AAP, the SAD-BSP alliance, and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) - Punjab Lok Congress (PLC) alliance.
