Lexus Granito(up 5.00%), 20 Microns(up 1.52%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 1.46%), Ashapura Minechem(up 1.06%), Aro Granite Industries(up 0.52%), NMDC Ltd(up 0.29%) and MOIL(up 0.23%) stood among the top gainers.
Coal India(down 4.13%), KIOCL(down 1.39%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 1.30%), Oriental Trimex(down 0.82%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 0.73%) and Pokarna(down 0.32%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 249.55 points up at 16594.9, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 817.06 points at 55464.39.
Hindustan Unilever(up 5.21%), Tata Steel(up 4.25%), Grasim Industries(up 4.12%), State Bank of India(up 3.76%), JSW Steel(up 3.76%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 3.58%), Indian Oil Corporation(up 3.42%), Tata Motors(up 3.38%), IndusInd Bank(up 3.31%) and Britannia Industries(up 3.17%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Coal India(down 4.13%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.29%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.97%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.6%), Tata Consultancy(down 0.32%) and UPL Ltd(down 0.14%) closed in the red.
