The Delhi Police has booked a man for allegedly raping a woman at a five-star hotel in New Delhi last year. No arrests have been made in the case yet. The Delhi Police are on the lookout for a retired officer of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) who allegedly raped a 17-year-old girl at a hotel in the central part of the national capital.
The incident took place on Monday and the accused has been on the run since, the police said. According to the cops, the accused knew the victim and her family and on Monday, he had called the girl on the pretext of giving her a job. He took her to a hotel in the Karol Bagh area where he allegedly raped her, the police added. Read more
To provide ease of living to citizens, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri inaugurated three air-conditioned community halls at Sectors 7, 8 and 15 in Delhi’s Rohini.
These halls can be utilised for social, cultural, religious, marriage ceremonies at affordable rates and are equipped with a library, gymnasium, party halls with pantry, senior citizen room and children playing areas (creche), lifts, parking areas, said a senior official of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). After schools reopened for students of all grades last month, authorities have been asked to intensify their implementation of the Parents Samvaad programme to engage parents in the children’s return to classes.
Last October, the Delhi government launched the Parents Samvaad programme under which every School Management Committee (SMC) member and parent volunteers, called school mitras, have been put in charge of staying in touch with parents of 50 students who reside in their locality or a neighbouring locality.
