AU Small Finance Bank(up 1.67 per cent), IDFCBANK(up 1.23 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 0.86 per cent), IndusInd Bank(up 0.84 per cent) and HDFC Bank(up 0.83 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.19 per cent), Axis Bank(down 1.01 per cent), ICICI Bank(down 0.5 per cent) and Bandhan Bank(down 0.06 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 0.07 per cent at 33133.35 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 119.85 points at 16133.3, while the BSE Sensex was up 474.46 points at 53898.55.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, ONGC, PNB and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of TTK Healthcare, Ugar Sugar Work, Dwarikesh Sugar, NDTV and Mangalam Global Ent hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Akash Infra-Proj, Easun Reyrolle, Dynamic Services & Security Ltd., Sansera Engineering Ltd. and Whirlpool India hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
