Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 11:26AM

Vadilal Industries(up 5.26%), Hind.Foods(up 5.21%), DFM Foods(up 3.30%), Umang Dairies(up 3.25%), Tasty Bite Eatables(up 3.01%), Hindustan Unilever(up 2.05%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(up 1.91%), Emami(up 1.72%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 1.71%) and JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 1.40%) were among the top gainers.

Nakoda Group(down 1.21%), Varun Beverages(down 1.08%), Nestle India(down 0.89%), Prataap Snacks(down 0.84%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 0.61%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 0.43%), Heritage Foods(down 0.38%), Britannia Industries(down 0.32%), Marico(down 0.17%) and Dodla Dairy(down 0.01%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 101.55 points up at 16115.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 401.83 points at 53825.92 at around 11:26AM.

Reliance Industries(up 3.06%), Tech Mahindra(up 2.46%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 2.19%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 2.18%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 2.14%), Hindustan Unilever(up 2.0%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 1.77%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.63%), Infosys(up 1.54%) and Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.18%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Shree Cement(down 2.92%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 2.19%), NTPC(down 1.76%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.57%), Axis Bank(down 1.54%), JSW Steel(down 1.39%), Tata Steel(down 1.3%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.23%), UPL Ltd(down 1.09%) and Eicher Motors(down 1.08%) were trading in the red.
