(Photo: Vidya Balan, Akshay Kumar/Instagram)It is a busy day in Bollywood as Vidya Balan-Shefali Shah’s Jalsa trailer releases and the team of Bachchhan Paandey, led by actors Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon, will speak to the media ahead of the film’s release.
Jalsa will have its global premiere on Amazon Prime Video. Directed by Suresh Triveni, the film is jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar (T-Series), Vikram Malhotra and Shikhaa Sharma from Abundantia Entertainment and Suresh Triveni. Other than Vidya and Shefali, the film stars Manav Kaul, Rohini Hattangadi, Iqbal Khan, Vidhatri Bandi, Shrikant Mohan Yadav, Shafeen Patel, and Surya Kasibhatla.
Meanwhile, Bachchhan Paandey is directed by Farhad Samji, and also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Pankaj Tripathi, Prateik Babbar, among others. The film, which had to hit the cinema halls in 2020, will now release on the occasion of Holi on March 18.

Arshad Warsi heaped praise on Akshay Kumar at Bachchhan Paandey’s press meet. Talking about his co-star, Arshad said, "Working with Akshay was a great experience. When you come to know Akshay, you realise that he has many talents. Akshay would play a match and make sure he loses so someone else can win. He is also a prankster. So, we had a good time on set."
Akshay Kumar said he has five films ready for release and is currently shooting his 6th project. "When people say they are surprised that I am doing back-to-back films, I get surprised seeing them surprised. From childhood, I was taught to get up early and study. Same way, I work every day and rest on Sunday. Everybody has been working through the pandemic, whenever they got a chance," Akshay said, adding, "I no longer work for money. I work because I am passionate about my work."
During the press meet, Bachchan Paandey director Farhad Samji revealed that it was Akshay Kumar who came up with the title of the film. "There was a Housefull 4 success party at Sajid Nadiadwala's office. I saw Abhishek Bachchan and Chunky Pandey's pictures from that event, and I thought it would make a good title - Bachchhan Paandey," Akshay recalled.
During the press meet of Bachchhan Paandey, Kriti Sanon said Akshay Kumar's life is so inspiring that if given a chance, she would make a film on him. "He has reached from where to where. His struggle story is so inspiring. I'd make a film on him for sure if I get the chance."

Jacqueline Fernandez and Kriti Sanon said Bachchan Paandey felt like a renuion as they shared screen space with Akshay Kumar in Housefull 4, which was also a Farhad Samji directorial. "It was really like a reunion after Housefull. We used to eat together. We had a great time shooting this film in Rajasthan. After Housefull, Akshay sir, Farhad and I have bonded well. It was my first time with Arshad, but we hit it off so well," Kriti said. Jacqueline added, "Getting back to doing a film with Akshay and Sajid Nadiadwala is like a reunion."
Akshay Kumar heaped praise on director Farhad Samji and called Bachchhan Paandey "a very commercial masala film". He said people will enjoy watching the film.
