Equity mutual fund inflows rise, debt fund AUM sees sharp dip in February

Equity mutual funds saw a net inflow of Rs 19,645 crore in February, whereas debt mutual funds saw net outflows of Rs 8,274 crore, shows data released by the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI). Amid the volatility in the market, equity mutual funds saw increased inflows. The inflows into these schemes stood at Rs 14,552 crore in January.

Sector funds and Flexi cap funds were the clear leaders attracting huge inflows in February. Large cap fund inflow also increased to Rs 2,338.6 crore up from Rs 1,890.2 crore the previous month. Similarly, mid cap fund inflow also jumped to Rs 1,954.3 crore from a previous Rs 1,770 crore in January. Here’s a look at the data.


On the debt mutual fund side, liquid fund inflows shot up from outflows in January to a net inflow of Rs 40,273 crore in February. All the debt mutual fund categories, except liquid funds and overnight funds, saw net outflows this month, on the back of uncertainty in the rate movement.


The hybrid fund net inflow was at Rs 3,177 crore versus Rs 6,230 crore inflow and ETF inflow stood at Rs 10,791 crore against Rs 4,009 crore inflow. The SIP contribution rose to Rs 11,438 crore, marginally lower from Rs 11,517 crore in January.
