Russia has said it doesn't want Ukraine to join NATO, the transoceanic partnership made toward the beginning of the Cold War to shield Europe from the Soviet Union

President Volodymyr Zelensky said he is done initiating for membership in Nato for Ukraine, a sensitive issue that was one of Russia's expressed purposes behind attacking its supportive of Western neighbor.
In one more clear gesture pointed toward mollifying Moscow, Zelensky said he is available to "split the difference" on the situation with two breakaway favorable to Russian regions that President Vladimir Putin perceived as free not long prior to releasing the intrusion on February 24.
Zelensky said that they had understood that Nato is not prepared to accept Ukraine. The alliance is afraid of controversial things, and confrontation with Russia," the president added.
Alluding to Nato participation, Zelensky said through a mediator that he would rather not be leader of a "country to beg on its knees."
