Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.97% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 11:27AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Natco Pharma(up 3.96 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(up 1.69 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(up 1.61 per cent), Cipla(up 1.53 per cent) and Laurus(up 1.49 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Gland Pharma(down 0.49 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.48 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(down 0.28 per cent) and Zydus Lifesciences(down 0.03 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.97 per cent at 12669.05 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 79.6 points at 15783.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 207.6 points at 52635.15.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, ONGC, YES Bank, JP Power and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Mawana Sugars, Future Enterprises (DVR), Dwarikesh Sugar, Bombay Metrics Supply Chain Ltd. and SEL Manufact hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Wockhardt, Akash Infra-Proj, Motherson Sumi, McNally Bharat and Usha Martin hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
