Share market update: Most active stocks of the day in terms of total traded value

NEW DELHI: ONGC(Rs. 46.25 crore), SBI(Rs. 42.86 crore), Tata Power(Rs. 40.78 crore), Tata Motors(Rs. 37.98 crore), Tata Steel(Rs. 26.19 crore), RIL(Rs. 24.41 crore), TCS(Rs. 23.58 crore), Hindalco(Rs. 20.52 crore), Infosys(Rs. 18.44 crore) and Bajaj Finance(Rs. 18.02 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 10:09AM in Tuesday's session.

The NSE Nifty index traded 20.45 points up at 15883.6, while BSE Sensex was up 132.96 points at 52975.71 as of 10:09AM(IST)on March 08.

In the Nifty index, NTPC Ltd.(up 3.50 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 2.83 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.98 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 1.83 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(up 1.60 per cent) were among the top gainers.

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 3.67 per cent), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 2.87 per cent), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 2.27 per cent), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 1.74 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 1.71 per cent) were among the top losers.
