The question of reservation of backward classes in Jharkhand has started gaining momentum. Chief Minister Hemant Soren has said that we try to increase the reservation. Everyone should have equal rights. He assured the House that the government would study Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra as well as other states and take a lawful decision keeping in mind the situation in the state.

He said that what rules and provisions have been made by the governments of different states on reservation, it will be studied. He also said that the suggestions of the State Backward Classes Commission would also be incorporated. CM said that everyone is aware of who reduced the reservation of backwards from 27 to 14 per cent in the past. The leader of the previous house had spoken of not giving reservation to the backward classes, but his government is not so cruel. A study is being done on this topic. We have often been hearing the example of Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu regarding reservation in all the Houses and other places.

Taking a jibe at the opposition in the House, the Chief Minister said that the opposition parties seem to have prepared the whole role of playing politics on the reservation of backward classes. During the Chief Minister Question Hour of Gomia MLA from AJSU, Lambodar Mahto raised the question of increasing the reservation of backward classes of the state from 14 per cent to 36 to 50 per cent. On this, the Chief Minister took a sarcasm and said that if such a system is made, ST, SC will have to be sent to Ukraine.

During the discussion on the demands for grants of the Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperation, Agriculture Minister Badal was surrounded by the opposition as well as the legislators of the ruling party in the matter of loan waiver of farmers and bank loans being NPA. During the discussion on the debate, during the reply of the Agriculture Minister, BJP and AJSU MLAs demanded discussion on the issue of farmers' loans being NPA. After this, BJP and AJSU MLAs walked out of the house.

After the walkout of the opposition, the estimate demand of 4091.37 crores of the Agriculture Department was approved. On Monday, after the lunch break, before the discussion on the demands for grants for agriculture in the house, former MLA Anant Kumar Ojha moved the cut motion, which was rejected by voice vote. Responding on behalf of the government after the budget discussion, the Agriculture Minister said that in the Economic Survey report, the growth of the agriculture sector has been 26 per cent. Wrong perception is being made about the loan waiver scheme. The Agriculture Minister said about the waiver of loans up to Rs 50,000 of Rs 3,80,000 of 150 farmers in two years.
