Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 10:24AM

Oriental Trimex(up 4.35%), KIOCL(up 3.37%), Ashapura Minechem(up 3.01%), 20 Microns(up 2.58%), Aro Granite Industries(up 2.10%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 1.95%), Coal India(up 0.77%), MOIL(up 0.58%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 0.54%) and Pokarna(up 0.11%) were among the top gainers.

NMDC Ltd(down 1.93%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 12.1 points up at 15875.25, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 118.18 points at 52960.93 at around 10:24AM.

Tata Consultancy(up 2.52%), NTPC(up 2.35%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.76%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.67%), Infosys(up 1.62%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 1.39%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 1.26%), HCL Technologies(up 1.16%), Cipla(up 1.11%) and Nestle India(up 1.08%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 3.64%), Hindalco Industries(down 3.58%), Tata Steel(down 3.12%), JSW Steel(down 2.35%), HDFC Bank(down 1.8%), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.51%), Asian Paints(down 1.31%), Axis Bank(down 1.27%), Eicher Motors(down 1.22%) and Hindustan Unilever(down 1.12%) were trading in the red.
