Hitachi Energy India(down 8.42%), KEC International(down 6.38%), Orient Green Power Company(down 5.00%), Adani Transmissions(down 4.99%), Indo Tech Transformers(down 4.99%), JSW Energy(down 4.97%), Jyoti Structures(down 4.96%), Suzlon Energy(down 4.93%), ADANIGREEN(down 4.78%) and Alstom T&D India(down 4.66%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 382.2 points down at 15863.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 1491.06 points at 52842.75.
Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 13.13%), Hindalco Industries(up 6.16%), Coal India(up 4.25%), Bharti Airtel(up 3.32%), UPL Ltd(up 2.54%), HCL Technologies(up 1.38%), Tata Steel(up 1.16%), Cipla(up 1.07%), Infosys(up 0.96%) and JSW Steel(up 0.82%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, IndusInd Bank(down 7.48%), Axis Bank(down 6.64%), Maruti Suzuki(down 6.6%), Britannia Industries(down 6.46%), Bajaj Finance(down 6.32%), Bajaj Finserv(down 6.26%), UltraTech Cement(down 5.82%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 5.7%), Tata Motors(down 5.57%) and ICICI Bank(down 4.99%) closed in the red.
