POST-GRADUATES in Physics and Astronomy have an opportunity to develop their skill in observational astronomy this summer.
Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES), Nainital, is organising a ten-day training school for post graduates batch of 2021 or final year MSc students in Physics or Astronomy. ARIES operates the 3.6m Devasthal Optical Telescope, the largest optical telescope in India.
The ARIES Training School in Observational Astronomy (ATSOA 2022) will host 30 students during May 16 – 27.
The training school sessions will cover topics like optical data analysing techniques, star formation and evolution, galactic and extragalactic astronomy, telescopes and more.
Practical sessions and demonstration sessions involving photometry, spectrometry and polarimetry will feature during the training.
Applications are open till April 1, 2022, and the candidate selection will be finalised by April 15. Full details are available on https://www.aries.res.in/atsoa2022/
