
NEW DELHI: Several stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, Sky Gold(20.0%), Quint Digital Media(19.99%), Kothari Prod(19.99%), InvstmntTrstofIndia(19.99%), STC India(19.98%), Hisar Metal Ind(19.97%), Future Enterprises (DVR)(19.95%), Amco India(17.84%), SCI(16.78%) and Rajeswari Infra(16.16%).
The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 366.22 points down at 55102.68, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 107.9 points down at 16498.05.
In the Nifty50 index, 17 stocks closed in the green, while 32 stocks ended in the red.
Meanwhile, stocks such as Sky Gold, Future Enterprises (DVR), Nahar Poly Film, Excel Ind and Guj Mineral Dev. hit their fresh 52-week high, while Swastik Safe, Ramco Cements, Anjani Foods, Ind Renewable Energ and Helpage Finlease touched their new 52-week low in today's trade.
