ReutersNEW DELHI: Vedanta (Rs. 2329.31 crore), Tata Steel(Rs. 2285.92 crore), ICICI Bank(Rs. 1636.91 crore), UltraTech Cem.(Rs. 1478.60 crore), Coal India Ltd(Rs. 1416.58 crore), HDFC(Rs. 1411.85 crore), Tata Motors(Rs. 1311.76 crore), Asian Paints(Rs. 1284.05 crore), Infosys(Rs. 1265.23 crore) and HDFC Bank(Rs. 1207.09 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange in Thursday's session.
The NSE Nifty index ended the session 107.9 points down at 16498.05, while BSE Sensex fell 366.22 points to 55102.68.
In the Nifty index, Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 4.51 per cent), UPL Ltd.(up 3.51 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 3.30 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(up 2.58 per cent) and Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 2.32 per cent) stood among the top gainers.
On the other hand, UltraTech Cement Ltd.(down 6.54 per cent), Asian Paints Ltd.(down 5.18 per cent), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 5.18 per cent), Shree Cements Ltd.(down 4.62 per cent) and Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 3.93 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
