Jharkhand Tables Rs 1.01 Lakh Cr Budget For FY23

A budget of more than 1 lakh crore has been presented in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, of which the maximum is for the health sector. An increase of 20 per cent in drinking water

A budget of Rs 1.01 lakh crore has been presented today in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly for the financial year 2022-23, in which the health sector has the highest amount of 50 per cent. Along with this, Rs 76,273 crore will be spent for revenue expenditure, Rs 24, 827 crore and Rs 31,896 crore for general category, and Rs 37, 313 crore will be spent for social sector.

State Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon is presenting the budget for the financial year 2022-23 in the House. In this budget, there has been an increase of 50 per cent in health, 20 per cent in drinking water, 21 per cent in food distribution. Under the agriculture loan waiver scheme, Rs 2.11 lakh has been transferred to the accounts of 530 farmers.

The proceedings of the House have resumed. Bandhu Tirkey raised the issue of encroachment on Sarna site in the House and demanded action on it. So on the other hand, Lambodar Mahato demanded martyr status for those killed in the Jharkhand movement.

Before presenting the budget in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, state FM Rameshwar Oraon handed over a copy of the budget to Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

Apart from that, the third supplementary budget of Rs 2698 crore was passed by a voice vote from the Jharkhand Assembly on Wednesday. The opposition boycotted the house. Responding to the opposition's cut motion, Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon said that a supplementary budget has been brought for the new scheme.

As the budget is still being presented, there many decisions to come out with the session for the state of Jharkhand.
