Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: MPS Infotecnics (number of shares traded: 8.74 crore), Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 4.96 crore), GTL Infra(number of shares traded: 3.72 crore), YES Bank(number of shares traded: 3.24 crore), Vedanta (number of shares traded: 3.11 crore), Coal India Ltd(number of shares traded: 2.68 crore), JP Power(number of shares traded: 1.52 crore), NALCO(number of shares traded: 1.50 crore), Suzlon Energy(number of shares traded: 1.32 crore) and PNB(number of shares traded: 1.18 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 10:04AM in Thursday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 46.95 points up at 16652.9, while BSE Sensex was up 171.79 points at 55640.69 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 2.95 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(up 2.54 per cent), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.(up 2.23 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 2.18 per cent) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 2.13 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 2.79 per cent), Asian Paints Ltd.(down 2.75 per cent), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(down 1.51 per cent), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.13 per cent) and Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.95 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
