NHPC(up 6.20%), Adani Transmissions(up 5.00%), Energy Development Company(up 4.96%), Indowind Energy(up 4.75%), Suzlon Energy(up 3.72%), Hitachi Energy India(up 3.44%), NLC India(up 3.29%), DPSC(up 2.46%), ADANIGREEN(up 2.12%) and SJVN(up 1.22%) stood among the top gainers.
K.P.I. Global Infrastructure(down 2.80%), Voltamp Transformers(down 2.02%), NTPC(down 1.91%), Orient Green Power Company(down 1.83%), Indo Tech Transformers(down 1.69%), Alstom T&D India(down 1.64%), Karma Energy(down 1.58%), Inox wind(down 1.26%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(down 1.01%) and PTC India(down 0.94%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 187.95 points down at 16605.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 778.38 points at 55468.9.
Coal India(up 8.99%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 7.19%), SBI Life(up 5.75%), Tata Steel(up 5.62%), Hindalco Industries(up 4.59%), UPL Ltd(up 3.62%), JSW Steel(up 2.73%), Titan Company Ltd(up 1.81%), Reliance Industries(up 1.65%) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.43%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki(down 6.01%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 5.17%), Asian Paints(down 4.59%), Bajaj Auto(down 4.48%), Hero MotoCorp(down 4.3%), ICICI Bank(down 3.75%), HDFC(down 3.65%), HDFC Bank(down 3.65%), Eicher Motors(down 3.15%) and Grasim Industries(down 3.13%) closed in the red.
