Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Deputy Director General (DDG) Sanjay Singh, who is currently heading the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on drugs-on-cruise case, confirmed on Wednesday that media reports on non-availability of evidences against Aryan Khan, son of megastar Shah Rukh Khan, are false.

In an statement issued, Singh said that the news reports are mere 'speculations'. He further said that the statements made were not cross-checked with the agency before being published.

"The media reports on non-availability of evidence against Aryan Khan are not true and just speculations. These statements were not cross-checked with NCB before being published," he was quoted.

"Investigation is not yet complete and it is premature to say anything at this stage," he concluded.

There were reports earlier quoting an NCB source, that the anti-drug agency had found no evidence to connect the 24-year-old with international drug conspiracy.

After a raid was conducted on the Cordelia Cruise yacht where a drug party was reportedly underway on the intervening night of October 2 and 3, Khan Jr and few others were detained by the agency on charges of drug conspiracy and consuming drugs.

Cruise drugs case: Bombay HC relieves Aryan Khan from weekly appearance at NCB office

The Bombay High Court on Wednesday exempted Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, from his weekly appearance before the Narcotics Control Bureau's (NCB) office here in connection with the cruise drugs case. A single bench of Justice N W Sambre said the condition imposed on Aryan Khan while granting him bail that he has to appear before the NCB office every Friday is modified.

Khan was placed under arrest by the NCB team on October 3. After interrogation, he was remanded to judicial custody. His first bail was dismissed by the trial court. Later, Khan through his counsel, approached Bombay High Court which granted him bail on October 28. Due to legal procedures, he was released on bail from the jail on October 30.

So far, the NCB has arrested 20 people, including two Nigerian nationals.

The NCB's SIT will file a charge sheet in the drugs-on-cruise case, and is currently seeking legal opinion.

Singh, a 1996 batch IPS officer, took charge of six cases, including Khan's drugs-on-cruise probe, in November last year. These cases were earlier headed by Zonal Director Sammer Wankhede.

Wankhede was removed from the investigating team a week after a probe was initiated into the alleged allegations of bribery and extortion against him.
