Global Infrastructure(up 5.00%), RTNPOWER(up 4.85%), Orient Green Power Company(up 4.78%), Suzlon Energy(up 4.44%), Alstom T&D India(up 4.37%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 4.32%), Hitachi Energy India(up 3.86%) and Indo Tech Transformers(up 3.65%) stood among the top gainers.
PIGL(down 4.96%), Energy Development Company(down 4.46%), ADANIGREEN(down 4.16%), Indowind Energy(down 2.64%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(down 2.24%), PTC India(down 1.39%), NHPC(down 1.08%), Karma Energy(down 0.87%), Jyoti Structures(down 0.74%) and Adani Power(down 0.24%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 135.5 points up at 16793.9, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 388.76 points at 56247.28.
Hindalco Industries(up 7.46%), Tata Steel(up 6.58%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 6.01%), JSW Steel(up 4.82%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 4.0%), Coal India(up 3.73%), Reliance Industries(up 3.31%), Titan Company Ltd(up 3.16%), Divis Laboratories(up 3.06%) and NTPC(up 2.42%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 2.91%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 2.71%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 2.07%), Axis Bank(down 2.06%), HDFC Bank(down 2.05%), HDFC(down 1.53%), Eicher Motors(down 1.47%), Tata Motors(down 1.24%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.9%) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.75%) closed in the red.
