ReutersNEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Monday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 388.76 points up at 56247.28 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Responsive Ind.(down 13.45 per cent), Biocon(down 11.47 per cent), Garment Mantra Life(down 9.57 per cent), Aryaman Fin(down 9.22 per cent) and Vijay Textiles(down 8.32 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.
In the Nifty pack, 34 stocks closed in the green, while 16 stocks ended in the red.
The index closed 135.5 points up at 16793.9.
On the BSE, Edelweiss Financial, Mahindra Logistics, Omnipotent Industries Ltd., Janus Corporation and Helpage Finlease hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Jyoti Resins, Vadilal Ind, Shankara Bldg Prod, Unique Organics and Shelter Infra touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
