Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Monday at 11:10AM

Ugar Sugar Works(up 6.27%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(up 4.45%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 3.31%), MAGADHSUGAR(up 2.30%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 1.98%), Uttam Sugar Mills(up 1.83%), KCP Sugar & Industries(up 1.71%), Rana Sugars(up 1.50%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(up 1.46%) and Dhampur Sugar Mills(up 1.23%) were among the top gainers.

EID Parry(down 1.78%), BAJAJHIND(down 1.47%), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(down 1.18%), Simbhaoli Sugars(down 0.78%), DCM Shriram Industries(down 0.70%) and Ponni Sugars(Erode)(down 0.02%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 68.35 points down at 16590.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 269.28 points at 55589.24 at around 11:10AM.

Hindalco Industries(up 4.21%), Tata Steel(up 4.2%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 2.65%), JSW Steel(up 2.59%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 2.46%), Coal India(up 2.08%), NTPC(up 1.11%), Tech Mahindra(up 0.5%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.41%) and Indian Oil Corporation(up 0.4%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Eicher Motors(down 2.61%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 2.61%), Axis Bank(down 2.35%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 2.06%), SBI Life(down 1.95%), Nestle India(down 1.89%), HDFC Bank(down 1.89%), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.63%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.52%) and Hero MotoCorp(down 1.5%) were trading in the red.
