JKTMA demands restoration Old Pension Scheme

UDHAMPUR, Feb 27: Rakesh Singh, State President of Jammu Kashmir Teachers/Master Association (JKTMA) today sought restoration of Old Pension Scheme for the employees.
Talking to media persons, here today, he said that Rajasthan Government recently announced restoration of Old Pension Scheme and J&K should also do the same for welfare and security of the employees.
Singh hoped that all vacant post of Lecturers would be filled up soon by 100 percent DPC as per SAC decision by excluding distance mode degree holders in Science stream, except those who were enrolled prior to December 2005 as per Order no 252-HE.
Singh demanded to re-fix seniority of Lecturer and Master on basis of date of passing degree of PG/B Ed, instead of date of joining as Teachers. He also suggested uniform for Teachers in order to create decorum in schools and sense of professionalism.
Association General Secretary Vivek Gupta and Ajay Mathur, District President, urged Chief Education Officer Udhampur to issue directions to ZEOs to update service books before commencement of new academic session every year.
Association also urged to Divisional Commissioner Jammu Division to issue necessary directions to all the District Commissioners to relieve all the Teachers engaged in different duties who have completed three months keeping in view decision of higher authorities and in the interest of students as schools are re-opened after almost a gap of 2 years.
