Team India romped to a 62 run win over Sri Lanka and notched a piece of history as they won their tenth successive T20I game in a row.
Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer's fifties helped the hosts score 199 after they were asked to bat first, in reply, Sri Lanka couldn't chase down the 200-run target, handing India a big win and a place in the history books as well.

Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka won the toss and chose to bowl after which India scored 199 runs in their respective 20 overs. In reply, the visiting team could only muster up a total of 137/6 after a troublesome start.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was under the scanner of sorts in the past few games gave a statement of intent as he bowled Pathum Nissanka in the first delivery of Sri Lanka's innings. The opener looked shell-shocked and couldn't believe he was dismissed on his maiden ball.
The Men in Blue would soon strike again, thanks to Kumar again who got his second wicket of the evening when he dismissed Kamil Mishara. With both openers back in the dugout, Janith Liyanage and Charith Asalanka tried to ride out the storm a bit.

Venkatesh Iyer broke their partnership however when he got rid of Liyanage after which Dinesh Chandimal came out to bat.
Skipper Rohit Sharma introduced Ravindra Jadeja into the attack and the all-rounder duly obliged by dismissing Chandimal, and he even celebrated in style.
Sri Lanka's captain Shanaka came out to partner Asalanka but he could muster up three runs before Yuzvendra Chahal struck to send the visiting captain back to the dugout and pick up his record-67th wicket in the shortest format.

With trouble looming and half of his teammates sent back to the dugout, Chamika Karunaratne and Asalanka went out all guns blazing. Venkatesh Iyer got his second wicket of the day as he got rid of Karunaratne, but Asalanka continued to look dangerous.

He scored an unbeaten 53 runs in 47 deliveries alongside Dushmantha Chameera who hit 24 in 14 balls, but the pair of them couldn't help the visiting side chase down the mammoth total.
As a consequence, India have taken a 1-0 lead in the series, and the second game will be played on Saturday at Dharamshala.
