Poet Aalok Shrivastav And Rajesh Tailang Collaborate For Poetical Short Film 'Selfie'

Actor-director Rajesh Tailang talked about the poetical short film 'Selfie' and his association with the renowned poet and Bollywood lyricist Aalok Shrivastav.

"My association with him as an artist and friend has been for a long time. We used to always think of working on something together. Then suddenly he got an idea of making this short film but he was stuck with the script and how to present it. Then he approached me with the idea of portraying the short film in the form of a poem rather than a script and dialogues. He narrated the basic idea and his thoughts behind this film to me in order to write a poem to convey the story. You can say, the short film is based on the poem and it depicts the whole story in a poetic way," said Tailang.

Talking about his working experience collaborating with Tailang for the short film Shrivastav said, "Whenever you work with a great or noted artist, your experience also becomes great. Because you get so much exposure and learning. In fact, Rajesh Ji was very precise and thorough with his planning and preparation for the film from writing, narration to making a storyboard. Everything was very well presented and described by him. The discipline he has imbibed from his theatre days is still seen in his acting and filmmaking to date because he is a noted artist. He is very clear with his vision of what he wants to portray. This made it easy and comfortable for me to write the poem. So working with such an artist helps you grow ideologically."
