
Ranji Trophy 2022, Round 2, Day 1 Highlights: The Ranji Trophy competition this year has Covid-related provisions. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has created a special points system if there is a Covid-19 outbreak during a match and has decided to continue the match even if 11 players are not available from a side.
According to the playing conditions distributed to the state associations by the BCCI on Monday (February 14), one point each will be awarded to the teams if a first innings result is not completed because of the Covid-19 situation.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decreed that the squad size of each team in the Ranji Trophy should not exceed 30 members and there should be a minimum 20 players in that contingent.

Gujarat's Het Patel brings up his maiden first-class century in only his second game. After a fine 72 in his very first innings at this level against Madhya Pradesh last week, the 23-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman has gone one better and rescued Gujarat in Rajkot after Kerala reduced them to 33/4. Gujarat 221/5 after 63 overs. Het Patel 100 (146), Karan Patel 62 (111) batting.
Abhishek Porel gone for 73. Came to bat at 116/6 for Bengal and left with 242 on the board against Hyderabad.
Century for Mandeep Singh. The Punjab right hander gets to his well deserving hundred this time against Haryana after missing out last week at 84 in the first innings.
Sheldon Jackson gone for decent 75. 130 runs partnership with Chirag Jani for the 4th wicket.
Jharkhand captain Virat Singh, after struggling for 2 years where he had a lean patch, plays a sublime knock vs Delhi, scoring his 4th 100.

Vidarbha mainstay Ganesh Satish (103*) weaves 16th century in his 100th First-Class match against Maharashtra in Sultanpur. Satish and Atharva Taide (58) added 162 for the 3rd wkt to take Vidarbha to 180-2.
After a record-breaking 341 in his debut first-class game, Bihar's 22-year old Sakibul Gani now has a fifty (unbeaten still) at a strike-rate of 77 in his next innings.
Back to back 100s for Baba Indrajith in Ranji Trophy, one of the best players of spin in the domestic circuit. His first class batting average grows past 50 in nearly 80 innings.

His first Ranji Trophy century for Karnataka in four years. Last one scored against Vidarbha in 2017 December. Only his second overall first class century in last four years and 15th overall.
After brilliant batting performance against Saurashtra, Mumbai are bowled out for just 163 by Goa.

Riyan Parag misses out on a well deserved century, departs for 91. He got out for 88 in the first innings against Maharashtra last week as well.
