NEW DELHI: Sugar shares closed lower in the Wednesday's session.

Shree Renuka Sugars(up 9.52%), Mawana Sugars(up 7.89%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(up 7.60%), Rana Sugars(up 7.25%), K.M.Sugar Mills(up 6.77%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(up 6.47%), KCP Sugar & Industries(up 6.09%), EID Parry(up 6.02%), Uttam Sugar Mills(up 5.17%) and Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(up 5.12%) stood among the top gainers.

Bannari Amman Sugars(down 0.27%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 28.95 points down at 17063.25, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 68.62 points at 57232.06.

Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 2.41%), Titan Company Ltd(up 1.86%), IndusInd Bank(up 1.24%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 1.13%), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.88%), Shree Cement(up 0.86%), Bharti Airtel(up 0.74%), Britannia Industries(up 0.61%), Wipro(up 0.52%) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 0.51%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 2.55%), Hero MotoCorp(down 2.21%), NTPC(down 1.44%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.31%), JSW Steel(down 1.17%), Divis Laboratories(down 1.02%), Nestle India(down 1.02%), ICICI Bank(down 0.89%), Coal India(down 0.88%) and Grasim Industries(down 0.85%) closed in the red.
