Music streaming platform Spotify's in-car entertainment system called 'Car Thing' is now available for general public for a price.

The 'Car Thing' is a dash-mounted device that lets driver use Spotify music in-car without any distractions while driving. The tech giant is now selling the service directly on its official website in the US for $89.99.

The Spotify service was launched in 2019 for vehicle owners who did not have an in-built infotainment system for audio play.

The company initiate the service to pick on Spotify users' listening and engagement habits on their personal vehicle.

3. Three mounting brackets

It can be mounted to CD mount, dash or vent. How does it work?
The 'Car Thing' connects with your Spotify mobile application and uses the smartphone's internet to stream music or audio files to play it directly in your car via sound system. The service can be also used on its own through Bluetooth, Aux cord and USB.

You need to have Premium subscription in order to use Spotify's 'Car Thing'.
You can use the product through the touch wheel control in order to scroll through your music or just say "Hey Spotify" to activate it and play desired songs or podcasts.

Over the years since its launch, Spotify has updated 'Car Thing' several times to make it more equipped and lighter and consumer-friendly service.

The $89.99 price tag includes standard shipping charges, however, it does not include the sales tax.
