Benchmark NSE Nifty index rose 70.1 points to 17162.3 amid buying in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Richa Info Systems Ltd., Shriram Pistons, Dev Information Tech, SS Infrastructure and Euro India Fresh, touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 41 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 9 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Kotak Bank, Titan Company, IndusInd Bank, Asian Paints and Adani Ports SEZ were among top gainers, while ONGC, Axis Bank, HUL, Nestle India and Divis Labs traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 215.57 points up at 57516.25 at 10:19AM(IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Textiles, Telecommunications, Sugar, Trading and Glass sectors, while selling was visible in Industrial Consumables, IT Enabled Services, Irrigation & Allied Services, Shipping and Construction sectors.
