Veteran Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag on Tuesday sent out a message to wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha who recently shared a screenshot of "threatening messages" that he received from a media person.
Sehwag took to Twitter to urge Saha to disclose the person's name.
The legendary cricketer said that though it's not in Saha's nature to harm others and he is a wonderful guy, he should name the person in order to prevent any such incident happening to someone else in the future.
"Dear Wriddhi, it's not your nature to harm others and you are a wonderful guy. But to prevent such harm from happening to anyone else in the future , it's important for you to name him," the 43-year-old wrote, asking Saha to "take a deep breath and reveal the name."
Sehwag's tweet comes days after the 37-year-old opened up about receiving "threatening" messages from a media person over an interview.
In series of tweets, Saha said that it wasn't in his nature to harm anyone to an extend that it ends their career, so he was not going to expose the person's name.
However, if the incident repeats, he will not hold back, Saha warned.
After going public with the incident, the cricketer received support from Indian cricket fraternity including former Indian pacer Venkatesh Prasad, who had also urged Saha to name the "so-called" person.
The 52-year-old had quoted a verse from the Bhagvad Gita to make his point and motivate Saha to reveal the identity of texter.
"There is a verse in the Bhagvad Gita which translates to-
"Tolerating injustice is as much a crime as committing injustice. It Is Your Duty To Fight Injustice,
It is important for Wriddhiman Saha to name this person. It will definitely set a good example," Prasad tweeted.
In another tweet, the Team India cricketer, Shaha, had thanked everyone for their support. "I thank each and everyone who has shown support and extended their willingness to help. My gratitude," Saha said.
