Live market updates: The key benchmark indices pared some off their opening gains as the overall mood remained nervouss given the ongoing Russia-Ukraine developments. Rising crude oil prices and the monthly F&O expiry on Thursday is also likely to add to the market volatiltiy.
As per the latest reports, Russian President Putin said he was ready to look for "diplomatic solutions" amid raging tensions with the West over Ukraine but added "the interests of Russia, the security of our citizens, are non-negotiable for us".
The BSE Sensex was now up around 300 points above 57,580 levels, while the NSE Nifty50 was up 90 points at 17,170.

The broader markets were outperforming the benchmarks, putting up an impressive show after a long haul of losses. The BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices were up 1.2 per cent & 1.6 per cent, respectively.
Sectorally, Nifty PSB, Realty, Consumer Durables and Metals were the top gainers, 1- 3 per cent higher, while Nifty Bank, Auto and Pharma also held onto modest gains. Nifty IT and FMCG were also in the green with relatively milder gains.
