Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 1.74 crore), GTL Infra(number of shares traded: 1.44 crore), Shalimar Prod(number of shares traded: 1.38 crore), JP Power(number of shares traded: 1.05 crore), Suzlon Energy(number of shares traded: 0.81 crore), YES Bank(number of shares traded: 0.78 crore), HDFC(number of shares traded: 0.71 crore), BLS Infotech(number of shares traded: 0.34 crore), G V Films(number of shares traded: 0.33 crore) and Inventure Grwth(number of shares traded: 0.32 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 10:09AM in Tuesday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 276.35 points down at 16930.3, while BSE Sensex was down 940.89 points at 56742.7 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 0.76 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up -0.10 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(up -0.43 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up -0.46 per cent) and Eicher Motors Ltd.(up -0.48 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 3.13 per cent), Coal India Ltd.(down 3.10 per cent), UPL Ltd.(down 2.93 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 2.93 per cent) and Bharti Airtel Ltd.(down 2.74 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
