EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
In the broader markets, the BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices also bounced from their lowest levels and trimmed losses, trading down 0.7 per cent and 1.5 per cent, respectively.
Sectorally, the Nifty Bank and Private Bank indices slipped in the green and were up to 0.4 per cent higher. Nifty Auto index also sharply pared losses and was marginally down. Nifty, Metals, Consumer Durables and Oil & Gas indices, meanwhile, held the maximum losses, down over 1 per cent each.
